Montblanc's first sporty diving watch, the Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date, features a "glacier" patterned dial that gives the impression of looking into the depths of a glacier. This green "glacier" patterned dial is inspired by the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice), the main glacier of the Mont Blanc massif. Its texture was achieved using an almost forgotten ancestral technique called gratté-boisé. The timepiece also features a bi-material unidirectional bezel, an engraved case back, and an interchangeable fine-adjustable tapered bracelet in precious steel for a perfect fit. The timepiece complies with ISO 6425 for diving watches and is water-resistant up to 300 meters.
