It also features a graduated bezel and an even more refined look, thanks to indices and hands with satin finishes. Its special case back features an integrated engraved rehaut.
CALIBER 80 CHRONOMETER SILICON
MIDO has decided to optimize its most iconic movement, the Caliber 80, by equipping it with a silicon balance spring.
In addition to its anti-magnetic properties, this material, essential in high-end watchmaking, offers much higher long-term precision than a normal balance spring, with enhanced shock resistance. The watch is a COSC certified chronometer and offers an exceptional power reserve of up to 80 hours.
COSC CHRONOMETER
The "chronometer" certification guarantees the high precision of a watch or movement.
The tests conducted by COSC include verifying the number engraved on the watch movement and performing tests in a controlled environment. Each movement is individually checked according to a rigorous procedure over several days, in five positions and at different temperatures (8°C, 23°C, and 38°C). For 15 days, the watch undergoes daily checks. Every day, including Saturdays and Sundays, the instruments are measured and wound. If the movement meets the requirements, chronometry certification is issued.
