A chest with a story to tell

Antique 19th-century dome-top trunk made of poplar wood, covered with worked and decorated iron. An extraordinary piece that carries the memory of a real journey: the inscriptions on the lid attest to its transport from the port of Salerno to the port of Naples, towards the United States of America — likely New York — a living testament to Italian emigration at the end of the 19th century.
