Charles Rennie Mackintosh (18681928) is one of the most original figures in European architecture and design between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Glasgow, he developed the Glasgow Stylea variant of Art Nouveau with elongated vertical lines, stylized floral motifs, and geometric forms that anticipated Art Deco and Bauhaus. Deeply admired by the Vienna Secession, his influence on early 20th-century European design was enormous. Cassina has reissued his most iconic pieces in the I Maestri program.
